Biography

A native Oklahoman, art has been a part of Diane's life for as long as she can remember.  She has taken drawing and painting classes at Northwestern Oklahoma State University and has studied extensively with noted CAA artist Jack Sorenson.  More recently, workshops with Contemporary fine artists Robert Burridge and Rita Kirkman have inspired Diane to work with more color and fluidity in her paintings.  She has also attended workshops with Mary Binford Miller, Mark Flickinger, Kim Casebeer, and Chauncey Homer.

Diane considers her artistic ability to be a God-given talent, but she also works hard to combine the elements of good composition, interesting color, and technical competence to create appealing and well-crafted paintings.  Diane has been juried into the American Academy of Equine Artists' Fall Open Exhibit.  Currently, she is a member of the Kansas Art Guild and the American Academy of Equine Artists.  She works from a studio in Goddard, Kansas, where she paints with mostly oils and some acrylics.
